Offline inspections, large inspections on iPhone, and automatic updates
Downloaded inspections can be carried out without coverage again, and an open Vyer tab updates itself when a new release is out.
Downloaded inspections work offline
A downloaded inspection opens offline again, together with the map, the indoor map, and the detail card. Subtask values, photos, and work orders added offline are saved on the device and sent once you are back online. Until then, photos and work orders show as waiting to sync. Completing the whole inspection still needs a connection.
Large inspections on iPhone
On sites with many inspection tasks, opening an inspection's map on an iPhone no longer reloads the page. Task numbers stay on their pins while you move the map, and holding a swipe on the task cards moves through them one at a time.
Automatic updates
When a new release of Vyer is out, an older version open in your browser updates itself behind an Updating Vyer… screen instead of showing an error. While an update downloads, the prompt says Downloading an update…, and once it is ready, Reload applies it in every open tab. Closing the prompt snoozes it for 30 minutes instead of hiding it until the next page load.
Cutting planes and the indoor map
Space labels stay in place when a cutting plane cuts through a space, cuts through door and window openings are cleaner, and transparent objects display correctly. Assets, work orders, and work requests created on the indoor map are always placed on the selected floor.
In the same release: the upload dialog in Files counts the files attached to items inside a site or building, instead of calling the location empty.
Fixes for inspection template copies, mobile comments, and the map
A round of fixes for inspections and everyday work on the map, shipped in two updates on September 30 and October 2.
Inspection template copies
Copying an inspection template keeps the subtasks on every task, both on general tasks and on tasks created for assets. The copy is ready to use, without resetting each task to its asset type's defaults.
Comments on phones
On phones and tablets, the button that shows a work order on the map no longer covers the comment field.
Working on the map
The site selector is locked while you place, move, or copy an asset, work order, or drawing edit, so the item always ends up on the site you started on. Finish or cancel the action to switch sites. Opening an inspection task that has no position on the map now shows its site, and adding rooms to an area from the table view opens the map so the rooms can be clicked.
In the same release: when a model is uploaded to a building that already has floors, the Story mapping heading is highlighted as a reminder to check the suggested floor matching, End batch editing responds on the first click, and the selected page is clearly marked in the PDF viewer's page list.
Inspection follow-ups and faster models
Work orders created from an inspection task can go on the map, and large models open on phones and tablets without crashing.
Inspection tasks and work orders
A work order created from an inspection task can now be placed on the map, and the inspection's detail card lists the work orders linked to it. Push a subtask to the asset type's default without saving the task first, and when a template has changed, bring a task in a running inspection in line with it.
Arrange table columns your way
Reorder the columns in the inspections table view, for example to put start date next to due date.
Faster, more stable models
Large models load faster and use less memory, so they no longer crash on phones and tablets. Fire safety inspections are faster and no longer log users out unexpectedly, and filtering the inspection list is quicker.
Redesigned inspections with subtasks and linked work orders
The Inspections module is rebuilt, from the list view to how each task is performed and followed up.
A rebuilt list view and mobile experience
The Inspections list view is redesigned. Filter by status, see which inspections are upcoming, ongoing, or overdue, and see the next start and due date for recurring inspections. Search in the module finds matches for partial wording. Inspections performed on a phone have their own mobile view.
Subtasks on inspection tasks
Inspection tasks can now be broken down into subtasks, so a single task can carry its own checklist. Reorder subtasks freely, and add notes and images to individual tasks as you go.
Create multiple work orders from an inspection task
When an inspection uncovers something that needs fixing, create work orders directly from the task. A task is no longer limited to a single work order, so separate findings can each get their own. Every work order stays linked to the task it came from, which keeps the follow-up traceable and builds service history over time.
