Vacse and Norrbys: better oversight with a digital twin

Digital twin as a tool in operations

The operations team is actively working to make information available in the digital twin, which provides both a visual overview of the property and details about key technical systems and processes.

We map all technical systems and all information about each system, with both images and documents in the twin, so we can quickly identify where everything is in the buildings.

Operations also plan and carry out systematic fire safety work with support from location-based control points and instructions in the twin.

During the spring, Vacse also activated public fault reporting, allowing tenants to mark faults directly in a floor plan. The faults then appear automatically in the digital twin.

It works really well. It is easier for tenants to submit a fault report when they can see and recognise the space they are in and simply mark it on the map. Above all, we have improved our response time — it is faster and feels more reliable.

Improved communication between owner and operations

With nearly twenty years as an independent operator in technical facility management, Magnus Norrby has seen enormous development in the industry, particularly when it comes to digital tools.

I came in just as digitalisation was beginning. Many properties had computer-controlled ventilation and monitoring, but no central hub. What I have invested most in, and tried to get my clients to invest in, is connecting systems together.

He sees clear benefits in gathering knowledge in the twins — for both the operations team and the property owner.
